so i got a new camera for my trip to mexico next week. and i decided to try it out on this lovely art teacher (part art whisperer/part art educator) named janelle. i really feel like these photos show how diverse and fluid she can be. how easy it is for her to move from one persona to another. wow. what a talent.
if you fill compelled, please vote on your favorite janelle and i will personally contact her and tell her the person she should always be.

the new secretary of state?
so i got to meet Hill last month at the utah dem fundraising event in WVC. yep the west side. i thought it was cool they had the event over there instead of the usual park city or downtown venue. it made me feel urban. it made me feel dangerous. it made me feel multi-cultured. okay. not really, but it was still pretty cool. and Hill was very nice and gracious. and since most of my fellow readers' blood runs a bit more red than mine, please be nice in the comment section.
except dad, now you know what your getting for christmas. i expect my framed pic of me and Hill to be on your desk.
and thanks ben the dem for hooking me up to work on the event and to get the photo op with Hill.

wishlist #842
so this has to be the coolest thing i've seen today. the BOSKEE Sky Planter. each fern plant is designed to hang from the ceiling, saving valuable floor or desk space and looking pretty damn cool to boot. the sky planter features an internal reservoir system which feeds water directly to a plant's roots, so there's no dripping or mess. but the best part is this for us fellow plant-loving-but-happens-to-forget-to-water-them plant owners. because the sky planter is so effective at maintaining moisture, you only need to water it once a month.that is amazing. and the best green idea i've heard in a long time. at least for today.
a crush revisted....
so this weekend, i found myself watching with some dear friends the first season of the O.C. and it was like coming home to two old crushes: the first being the adorable seth cohen and the second being the amazing music that the O.C. introduced me to many moons ago. there's only one thing better than watching the O.C. with dear friends.....watching the O.C. with friends that have never seen the first season. its like watching children open presents on christmas morning and then saying your taking them to disneyland. the sighs. the gasps. the laughter. the oohs and aahs.
i miss you seth cohen and all your adorable nerdiness. thank you for bringing death cab, rooney, the shins, the 88, and a myriad of other indie bands into my life.

my west wing pipe dream....
so nbc released an article today about obama's dream team short list for his cabinet. amongst the speculation are the names of gov. arnold schwarzenneger and colin powell to fill key positions. both republicans. can i just throw in my pipe dream too? wouldn't it be great if he asked mitt romney to be his secretary of treasury to help with this economic mess we are in?it would be almost like jimmy schmits character on the last season of the west wing asking alan alda, his former GOP opponent for the white house, to be secretary of state.
sigh.....
hope....
so this week has been happy for some and sad for others with the outcome of the elections. and now i hope we can as a nation and as family and friends finally heal. put aside our differences and become unified. realize its not a democrat that will be in the white house, but our president of the united states. united. i never realized before how key that word is.
i've been trying to figure out how i could articulate the hope i have for this. but i don't need to. my dear friend em did it for me on her blog. i encourage you all to read what she has to say and thank you em for saying so well what's been in my heart. its what i needed to hear for myself as well, because we all know how passionate (and often times stubborn) i can get with my opinions.
so i join her in her sentiments on wishful thinking.

an early night....
so last night i expected to be up pretty much all night long. i even invited some people over to keep me company. but we knew the results by 8:30 pm. and we questioned the pundits on CNN for making such a hasty and early projected statement. so we switched over to MSNBC and they were saying the same thing! and we all know in the mouth of two or three witnesses, the truth shall be told. so it had to be true, right? and sure enough it was. with california polls closing with obama ahead and florida going blue, the white house will know house the first african-american president.but just so you know i'm not a too hard of party liner, i did vote for one republican this election. governor huntsman got my vote. i think he's doing a fairly good job. and he loves china. so that sealed the deal for me.
